You know what they say about the curse of the boy band? That a band group made up of boys will someday break up.

Some Nigerian stars were almost insignificant when they were a part of a group even though they played very vital roles in the success of the band. Now here are four Nigerian stars who made it big after leaving their group.

Fast rising female singer Seyi Shay who is one of the top female Nigerian singers battling for that number one diva slot was formerly a member of the defunct Naija Ninja led by Sound Sultan.

After the break up of the group, Seyi Shay has taken her music to another height and has made herself a force to reckon with in the industry.

Many fans of this 'Sho le' crooner didn't know that he was also a part of the Naija Ninja group. Sean Tizzle became very popular after his hit single 'Sho le' and hasn't stopped since then. The singer has won numerous awards and keeps releasing hit songs.

KCEE



Kcee a former member of the group Kcee Presh made up of the singer and Presh launched his solo career a few years ago after working as a group for many years. Kcee's come back was stamped by his monster hit single 'Limpopo' and the singer and five star music artiste is still firing on all cylinders and has become one of Nigeria's most wanted artiste.

2FACE IDIBIA



The legendary 2face was a member of the Plantashun Boiz comprising of Faze, Blackface and himself from the mid 90's to early 2000's. Tuface's 'Face To Face' Album with hit songs like African Queen was a huge success and 2face became a household name in Africa. He released another Album 'Grass To Grace' and won multiple awards with the very successful album. Since then singer who is considered by many as a living legend has not stopped churning out hit singles.
